Caring for Your Wa-So Jewellery

Each Wa-So piece pairs natural gemstones or cultured South Sea pearls with a gold-tone metal setting. A little care will keep it looking beautiful for years to come.

Last on, first off
Put your jewellery on after perfume, lotions, make-up and hair spray, and take it off before bed. Chemicals can dull the metal’s finish and the surface of gemstones and pearls.

Keep it dry
Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, bathing or washing up. Water, chlorine and salt water can affect the gold-tone finish over time.

Remove during activities
To prevent knocks, scratches or bending, take your jewellery off before exercising, gardening or heavy lifting. Gemstones are hard but can still chip if they’re knocked.

Cleaning
Gently wipe your jewellery with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after wearing. For gemstone pieces, you can use a soft brush dipped in lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Please don’t use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners or jewellery dips, because they can damage some gemstones and the metal finish.

Caring for pearls
Pearls are natural, organic gems and are softer than other stones. Wipe them with a soft, damp cloth after each wear, and never use soap, cleaning products or brushes on them. Let them dry flat before putting them away.

Storage
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box, so harder gemstones can’t scratch other pieces or pearls. Keep your jewellery away from direct sunlight and damp places.
